Decrease of the ecological footprint

Amino acids are one of Orffa’s main products. Our relations with leading research institutes have allowed us to be a pioneer in optimising animal diets in view of N-excretion reduction. The research done has significantly reduced the crude protein level in animal diets, hence reducing ammonia production and optimising the utilisation of amino acids in the diet, leading to lower N-excretion by the animal, both in monogastics and ruminants. Moreover, a better knowledge of the animal’s protein and amino acid requirements, also allows lower soy levels in the diet and to get a better valorisation of alternative protein sources, leading to a lower footprint.
